Does anyone happen to know the difference between the various Generation 1 MPI cables, part numbers: 6ES7 972-0CA21-0XA0 6ES7 972-0CA22-0XA0 6ES7 972-0CA23-0XA0 ? Weve various reports that some work with our product and others dont. I cant seem to find much info about the history or differences between them. I dont know the history exactly. But the earliest adapters only supported 19200 baud between the adapter and the PC. Later adapters support both 19200 and 38400 baud. The part # 6ES7 972-0CA23-0XA0 should be the latest version (of the serial adapter) that is used for programming (PG connection). There should also be a model that is to be used if you have a HMI panel (OP connection). I dont know the type number for that one. As Jesper stated the early PC Adaptor only supported 19200, but the serial number for this adapator is 6ES7 972-0CA20-0XA0, not one of the versions you list. Im sure there are subtle differences between revisions, but using them for there intended purpose - You wouldnt notice! |
